Game options on Start

The Objective of the game is to achieve the same as Manstein and capture the Crimea, or as the Russians, to stop this from happening and changing history.
You can select from 3 scenarios (See section 11 below for more details).
You can either play each scenario in hotseat mode or versus the Soviet AI. If using the game on Steam, you can use their remote play to play the game against a friend (They don’t even need to own the game!). See https://store.steampowered.com/remoteplay for more details.
In each scenario, if you are playing hotseat, you can select either auto setup for the Soviet forces or set up their initial positions yourself.
To make the game harder as the German player, you can select the option “Sevastopol Under Siege”. You will need to place Sevastopol under siege by the end of December and maintain it until Sevastopol is. See the image below for the hexes you need to occupy to maintain the siege.

If you select the “Soviet Mandatory Assault” option, then from January 1942 until the end of April, the Soviet player must make at least 3 attacks each turn. If the Soviet player does not make the required attacks, then they will lose the game. Stalin provided a lot of extra reinforcements and even sent his top political commissar, Comrade Mekhlis, to ensure the local commanders understood the need of conducting an all-out offensive.
