- Respect opportunity fire. Long paths through open floors get marines killed. Short bounds between cover win fights.
- Weight is AP. A lighter kit with full actions often beats max gear with half a turn.
- One marine draws, others shoot. Don’t move the whole squad into the same kill zone on the same turn.
- Doors are weapons. Closing or controlling doors cuts sight and funnels enemies.
- Kneel and aim when holding. If you’re watching a hallway, stance and facing matter as much as the gun.
- Grenades for rooms, not for ego. A bad throw wastes AP and the grenade; a good one ends a stalemate.
- Smoke to cross. If you must cross a watched gap, break LoS first.
- End turn with intent. Leaving AP unused is fine if everyone is in cover; rushing “one more move” is how turn reviews become funerals.
- Hotseat / PBEM etiquette. No peeking the other side’s screen or files if you’re playing competitively.
- Learn from turn review. When the enemy turn replays, note where they stood and which angles killed you — use those next round.
